ECP decides army deployment during by-election in Karachi - Business Recorder

imageISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to deploy army troops' on all polling stations in Karachi during by-election.

ECP on Sunday directed for conducting the electoral event completely under supervision of Pakistan Army as the troops were present inside and outside the polling stations.

It should be mentioned that in Karachi by-election will be held on national and provincial assembly constituencies including NA-254, PS-95 and PS-103.

The decision was made after confirmation of recently appointed acting Chief Election Commission (CEC) Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani.

Moreover, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan had also demanded holding by-election under supervision of army personnel.
