Jews need no agent in presence of Fazl: Imran - The News International

LAKKI MARWAT: Vowing to win the National Assembly seat NA-27 in the by-elections scheduled to be held on August 22, the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said Jews need no agent in Pakistan in the presence of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Imran Khan also said the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would improve the performance of all departments by introducing a new system.

"The people will see a glimpse of Naya Pakistan within one month in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There will be a clear difference between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the other three provinces," he told a well-attended pubic gathering held to drum up support for the PTI candidate Col (retd) Ameerullah Khan for NA-27, Lakki Marwat.

The PTI supporters and workers holding party flags chanted slogans, "Diesel, diesel." The emotionally charged PTI activists became more enthusiastic when Imran Khan made a mention of Fazlur Rehman by remarking: "I don't know why the people call him Diesel."

Imran said the Maulana had once asked the American ambassador that the US should help him become the prime minister and he would leave no stone unturned to oblige them.

"The Maulana has accused me of being an agent of the Jews, but I would say that the Jews don't need any agent in the presence of Maulana Fazlur Rehman," he remarked.

"We will mete out the same treatment to the team of the Maulana which we meted out to the Indian cricket team," the PTI chief said.

Ameerullah and other PTI leaders also addressed the public meeting.

The PTI chief said now the people would run their hospitals, schools and colleges and they would not have to run after MNAs and MPAs. He said the representatives of the people would solve the problems being faced by the masses in their villages and cities.

Imran said his party won elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa despite the fact that the "umpires" had not done justice to the PTI in the May 11 general elections.

Urging his party workers and activists to reach the polling stations at 7:00am on polling day, the PTI chief said his party would win the by-polls.

He said a sports stadium would be established in every tehsil in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that the talented youth could hone their skills and become assets to the nation.

"Pakistan is a rich country. There is no dearth of resources, but we need unblemished leadership to provide justice to the people without any discrimination," he said, adding that Pakistan couldn't become prosperous unless a system based on justice was established.

Imran Khan said his party would serve the people of Lakki Marwat even if its candidate lost the election. "We will not abandon our people and will serve them with devotion," he promised.
